Mail Be Gone is operated by Marketing Right, LLC ("Mail Be Gone," "we," "us," or "our"), 133 US Hwy 70 #542, Havelock, NC 28532-2606, United States. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Mail Be Gone, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

When you create a Mail Be Gone account and connect your Gmail account, we collect:

  • Account information: your name and email address, obtained via Google sign-in or email/magic-link sign-in.
  • Gmail metadata: for messages in your connected mailbox, we read header-level information — sender, subject line, message snippet, thread and message IDs, and headers such as List-Unsubscribe. We do not read, store, or process the full body or attachments of your emails.
  • Gmail actions: a record of the labels, archive, and trash actions Mail Be Gone takes on your mailbox on your behalf, so you can review or undo them.
  • Contacts (optional): if you enable contact protection, we read your Google Contacts (read-only) to recognize senders you already know, so their mail is never auto-sorted away.
  • Classification data: the routing decisions and confidence scores our system generates for your messages, and any corrections you make, which we use to improve accuracy for your account.
  • Billing information: if you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor Stripe collects your payment details directly; we store only your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, never your full card number.
  • Session data: standard authentication session identifiers needed to keep you signed in.

2. Gmail Access & Google API Scopes

Mail Be Gone's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We request the following Google OAuth scopes, and use each strictly for the purpose described:

  • gmail.readonly — to read message headers and metadata so we can classify your mail.
  • gmail.modify — to apply labels and archive or trash messages according to your routing rules, and to undo an action if you ask us to.
  • gmail.labels — to create and manage the folder-like labels Mail Be Gone sorts your mail into.
  • userinfo.email — to identify your Google account and connect it to your Mail Be Gone account.
  • contacts.readonly — only if you enable contact protection, to recognize known senders.

We never send email on your behalf, and we never read the body content of your messages. You can disconnect your Gmail account and revoke these permissions at any time from your Google Account settings or from within Mail Be Gone.

3. How We Use Third-Party Services

We share the minimum data necessary with the following service providers to operate Mail Be Gone:

  • OpenAI — email sender, subject, and snippet metadata (never full message bodies) are sent to OpenAI's API to classify and route your mail, and to power features like custom routing rules.
  • Stripe — processes payments and manages subscriptions; handles your payment details directly under its own privacy policy.
  • Railway — hosts our application and database infrastructure.
  • EmailIt — sends transactional email on our behalf, such as sign-in links and account notifications.
  • Better Auth — powers our authentication and session infrastructure.

We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers, and we do not sell your personal information or your email data to anyone, ever.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your account and classification data for as long as your account is active, so Mail Be Gone can keep sorting your mail accurately. You can export a copy of your data at any time from your account settings. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your Gmail connection, classification history, routing rules, and usage data from our systems, and cancel any active Stripe subscription. Some limited records may be retained where required for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

5. Cookies

We use a single essential session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

6. Data Security

Gmail OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest. We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these rights directly from your account settings, or by contacting us at [email protected].

8. Children's Privacy

Mail Be Gone is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Users

We are based in the United States, and information we collect is processed and stored in the United States. By using Mail Be Gone, you consent to this transfer and processing.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the app. Your continued use of Mail Be Gone after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
